All in a day's work

So new developments, I am now completely vegetarian. Over the weekend, I met a friend of my sister's who is just so interesting and oh so convincing I felt motivated to take the plunge. I went from the three days a week, non-committal vegetarianism to the full fledged, maybe even bordering on vegan-vegetarianism. And it feels great. I can now honestly say I care about animals without feeling hypocritical. Not that eating meat means you don't care but how can I say I am against animal cruelty when I'm gobbling down a chicken caged and slaughtered in those awful slaughter houses. So hypocritical? I thought so.
Maybe it'll cleanse my body of all meaty ingredients. It is, however, hard to find a substitute for milk. Which is good, considering I don't particularly like milk. Maybe being vegan isn't for everyone right? It's all about will power of course. I think i can do it. I officially started being full vegetarian on sundaay. So I am officially two days in. And for the record, it was sunday september 13th, 2009. Maybe I'll look back in a year and realize I just passed my first anniversary. That will be an exciting day! (:
But anyway, his vegan lifestyle wasn't all we talked about. The three of us has this 3 and a half hour long talk about society in general. And my sister's strong dislike of capitalism somehow kept coming up. I don't know, I think government, no matter what kind it is, will always have its flaws. Although I do agree with her, capitalism has turned into something ugly controlled by these huge corporations determined to make "capital." It is all about money now isn't it? It's really all that matters, it controls the thoughts of everyone, especially the government, which doesn't always work out the best for it's citizens. Oh world, why do you have to revolve around the concept of money?
